Puppet/Mask Design What does puppetry have to do with dance? I am drawn to storytelling of the body. I am explorer of the mechanics of puppet movement and dance gesture and how physical embodiment can reveal our inner landscapes of emotion. I am fascinated by the engineering of how to make puppets move realistically. Lately I have been interested in large scale creatures. Recent projects include a 16 foot tall dragon for State Street Ballet’s production of Sleeping Beauty, an 18 foot long snake for Santa Barbara High School’s production of Head Over Heels and this guy sitting with me here!
